Battlegrounds Mobile India

After the ban of PUBG by the Indian Government in September 2020 over privacy concerns, the PUBG players had lost hopes of ever having the same gaming experience again. The PUBG fan base in India has been saved by the South Korean gaming developing company Krafton after nine months of waiting period. Krafton has worked out on a new game Battleground Mobile India which is widely referred to as the ‘desi version of PUBG’. The pre-registration for the same had begun on May 18 and the much awaited launch has recently been announced by Krafton on 2 July. Not even a week took for the game to top the charts. It has currently secured No. 1 Free Game and No. 2 Top Grossing Game in Google Play India. The game’s early access was initially launched with its Beta version out and has now been opened to all the Android users to be downloaded from Play Store.

The basic requirement needed for installing the game includes minimum of 2GB RAM and Android 5.1.1 or above. Although the game is widely being considered as having the same gameplay as PUBG, Krafton claims that that there has been significant changes and modifications introduced to BGMI to cater to the Indian users. The game is strictly restricted to Indian players. The below 18 years users cannot play the game for more than three hours per day with the in-game amount of money spending set at maximum of INR 7000. The game has upgraded in terms of graphics and visuals compared to PUBG with the basic textures remaining similar, giving the players an enriching playing experience.

The game provides with five maps namely, Erangel, Livik, Sanhok, Miramar and Karakin. These maps come with three Arcade game modes including Sniper Training Mode, War Mode and a Payload 2.0 mode for battle royale on wheels. It has eight Arena game modes. All these options give it more or less a very close gaming vibe as PUBG. To address the concern of data protection and security, Krafton will be using Microsoft Azure. Servers in India and Singapore will be containing the personal data of players. Battlegrounds Mobile India’s Terms of Service are regulated by the laws of South Korea, which is where Krafton is from.
